What Is Kratom?
Before we get into tea details, let’s take a quick refresher on what exactly kratom is. Kratom, or mitragyna speciosa, is an evergreen tree from the coffee family native to Southeast Asia. The leaves of this tree have been in use in the traditional medicine practices of the area for centuries. Additionally, field workers would historically pluck the leaves straight off of the trees and chew on them throughout their work day. This would effectively help the workers stave off pain and fatigue during their long shifts.
What Is Kratom Tea Good For?
A cup of tea is a great option for taking kratom and will include all the benefits of your regular dose. Remember, though, that kratom is dose-dependent. This means, if you’re looking for an energy boost from kratom, it’s best to take a small dose. If you’re looking for a relaxing, sedative effect, a higher dose is required. Whichever of the kratom benefits you’re after, a warm cup of tea delivers them in a palatable option.
How To Make Kratom Tea
Most kratom is sold as kratom powder, kratom capsules, or even kratom extracts. While many people choose to place kratom powder straight in their mouths and wash it down with liquid — coined the toss n’ wash — not everyone enjoys the flavors and experience of this method.
Kratom tea is a great option to make taking your kratom dose more palatable and enjoyable. And, it’s very simple to make!
- Boil your desired amount of water.
- Pour the boiling water over your desired kratom dose.
- Let the water and kratom mixture steep for 20-30 minutes.
- Strain out the kratom powder using a sieve or cheesecloth.
- Add any sweeteners or flavorings of your choosing.
- Enjoy!
The Options Are Endless!
And remember, your cup of tea can be made any way you like it! Many customers enjoy their tea made with a squeeze of lemon or a drop of peppermint oil. You can also brew your favorite tea bag right along with your dose to add your favorite flavors. The options are only limited by your imagination!
And if you don’t like hot tea, make it cold! You can make as much tea as you’d like according to the instructions above, and then refrigerate it for use later. With this option, you can make your tea in advance and have it ready whenever you like.

im new to kratom. I know it comes in different colors. Whats up with the blue kratom?
Blue is not a color that is natural to Kratom. Kratom naturally comes in red, green, and white. Yellow kratom is available from certain brands and is either made through a fermentation process of one of the original colors or is a blend. The vein colors of red, green, and white correlate to the maturity levels of the tree the kratom leaves came from. Blue is not a part of this natural cycle.
